Equipment needs to be returned in good, clean condition as soon as you are through with it. Someone else may be waiting to use it.
If you request an item we don’t have in stock, your name will be placed on a waiting list and you will be notified as soon as it’s available. Or perhaps we can suggest a substitute solution to fill your needs.
We have a list of stores and companies that sell or rent health care equipment. This may help if you are requesting an item currently out-of-stock or an item we don’t carry.
Donations
We welcome donations of medical health equipment in good condition. The Lending Closet’s success relies on the support of the community. By donating equipment you have purchased, but no longer need, we can loan it to someone else in the area who needs it now.Monetary donations are also welcomed. The Lending Closet is a completely free service staffed by volunteers. The money we receive will be used to buy new equipment to fill in our inventory and to maintain the equipment we already have.

Action to preserve/protect Home Care Services

Call Governor Quinn at his Springfield Phone numbers: 217-782-0244  TTY: 888-261-3336 or in Chicago at 312-814-2121.  Dear friends: Once again we are asking you to be the voice for people with disabilities. We do not have big dollars to influence legislation; we have you and your dedication to making life better for yourself and all people with disabilities. Because the threats to Medicaid and disability services are severe we are planning 2 days of action before the Governor’s budget address.  Our main concern is cuts to the Home Services Program and to CIL funding.  The last 3 years have been a challenge to disability advocates as the state budget has been repeatedly attacked and there have been significant cuts.  Because we have been aggressive and organized we have been able to largely stop any Home Service Cuts.  This year is a continuation of the ongoing state budget crisis and many politicians of both parties have talked about the need for deep Medicaid cuts.   Our job is to persuade them again that they get real value from the Home Services Program and that it saves them money in other areas of the budget like health care and decreased institutional spending. The Governor’s budget address, we want to communicate our concerns before any bad news is delivered. The Taskforce for Attendant Services and ADAPT have decided to start our campaign early to let the Governor and the Budget Director know that these programs are essential to keeping people with disability living in the community and having a safe and decent quality of life. Our message is:  Do not cut the Home Services Program! And that we need to Protect people wth disabilities from unnecessary institutionalization, Invest in a Home and Community infrastructure, Enforce the Olmstead mandates and Strengthen the Home Service Program as the way to really do long term care.

EVERY CALL COUNTS!  WE NEED YOU TO BE INVOLVED!

SOME CUTS NEVER HEAL; DON’T LET THEM CUT HOMESERVICES!
